The Tower Grove East Neighborhood is a strong south St. Louis City neighborhood rich in community spirit and architectural splendor. TGE is just to the east of Tower Grove Park and is one of the neighborhoods adjacent to the Grand South Grand area centered at Grand and Arsenal. Tower Grove East has a great home town feel; it is not uncommon to run into neighbors you know at local shops and restaurants. A Message from the Director of Public Safety
In the 1970s, the United States Congress recognized the need for a tax relief program designed to ease the burden of taxes for low- and moderate-income families.
Today, the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) provides millions of dollars nationally to the families that qualify. Yet, studies indicate that only 10 and 20 percent of families eligible claim the credit.
To help increase awareness of this program, I am asking you to remind people at the neighborhood and ward meetings you will be attending between now and tax day, April 15. …

Recruiting in St. Louis City has been more challenging than other areas, and the city is flagged as needing an additional 30 positions filled to meet their goals. The Census Bureau does their best to hire individuals who actually live in the regions in question, because being forced to bring in people from the outside lowers census taker effectiveness, and is depriving St. Louis residents of employment theycould have had.

The house  at 2347 Virginia was built around 1870 as a country house by Andrew and Laura Scott Einstmann. Situated in the upland prairie at what was then the western
edge of the city, the home was one of many country estates built by wealthy St. Louisans who wished to escape the heat, congestion, and pollution of the city during the summer months.
